AfriCamps Champagne Valley invites guests to an exciting close-to-nature experience at the foothills of the Drakensberg, which means adventure and exquisite natural beauty await around every corner.
Our custom-made boutique glamping tents are fully furnished and equipped for a convenient self-catering break. Each tent has a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan living and dining area, two bedrooms, and an en-suite bathroom. With creature comforts like an indoor fireplace, electric blankets, a large rain shower, and a private outdoor wood-fired hot tub, the tents are kitted for year-round comfort.

In Room Facilities:Each Africamps tent features a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan living and dining area with a couch, an indoor fireplace, and a solid wooden table with seating for five. The tents comfortably sleep up to five guests in two air-conditioned bedrooms, each fitted with an extra-length queen-size bed (including an extra single bunk bed in the second bedroom) made with electric blankets. For maximum privacy, each bedroom has its own private access to an en-suite bathroom featuring a large rain shower, washbasin, and flushing toilet.
Each tent has its own private outdoor wood-fired hot tub, perfect for cooling off during hot summers or warming up in winter. Enjoy a braai on our spacious wooden decks and take in the views from the comfortable deck loungers. Pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a large outdoor living area. Unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while taking in the serene natural beauty of the Drakensberg.
Travel tip: For longer stays, an additional cooler box will come in very handy to keep your food and drinks cold. Ice is available to purchase from the camp.
Area Information:Champagne Valley, nestled in KwaZulu-Natal’s Central Drakensberg, forms a part of the impressive 300 km Drakensberg Mountain Range that stretches between Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal. Locally known as the 'Berg', this ecologically rich and culturally diverse terrain has some of the highest mountain peaks in South Africa and has been declared a world heritage site. The flat-topped Cathkin Peak (3,149 m) and Champagne Castle (3,248 m) are two of these peaks, and the valley below it is referred to as Champagne Valley. The area is a world-famous destination for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing, and many come to hear the world-renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir perform.
AfriCamps Champagne Valley is located near entrances to several popular hiking trails, including the Maloti-Drakensberg National Park (18.5 km) and Monks Cowl (2.3 km).
