Massingir Safaris is situated on 8,000 hectares in the Massingir District of Mozambique and offers a diverse landscape with bushveld scrub, open savanna and magnificent trees. The diversity of the habitat gives guests a fantastic opportunity to experience many different species of fauna and flora.
There are two camps at Massingir Safaris: Hardekool Camp with Bungalows and Nyala Tented Bush Camp.
Hardekool Camp - situated 5 km from the main gate, in a large indigenous bushveld garden which is fenced. It has 4 bungalows that have an overhead fan in the bedroom, an en-suite shower and toilet, as well as a small verandah. The bungalows are quite private and linked to the main house by a pathway.
There is a large, inviting communal pool to enjoy. There is a lookout hide overlooking a waterhole which is frequented by many animals and a lovely spot for a sundowner at the end of a long day in the bush. At Hardekool Camp, meals are provided – dinner is compulsory and breakfast is optional. There is a cash bar, no outside meals or drinks can be consumed in the main area or at the pool.
Nyala Tented Bush Camp is situated 7 km from Hardekool Camp, in an unfenced bush clearing. Nyala Tented Bush Camp can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests in 5 safari tents. Each safari tent has 2 single beds, an overhead fan, and a partially open-air shower and toilet. Each tent has a small verandah for relaxing and enjoying the views. The tents are private, situated approximately 20 m from each other. All gatherings for meals can be enjoyed in the open-air boma or the covered, slightly elevated deck. Nyala Camp has a small splash pool on the deck.
Nyala Camp is equipped for self-catering as there is a communal kitchen as well.
Hardekool Camp and Nyala Tented Bush Camp at Massingir Safaris are completely off-the-grid.
