Established in 2020, our campsite is a haven for rock enthusiasts, combining the thrill of rock climbing and bouldering with the serenity of a carefully crafted base camp. Nestled amidst the rugged beauty of the Cederberg Mountains, our site provides a gateway to a world of vertical adventures. Whether you're a seasoned climber seeking new challenges or a bouldering enthusiast eager to explore unique sandstone formations, Rocklands Base Camp is your ideal starting point.

Freeda's Cottage:
Freeda’s Cottage is the perfect retreat for couples or remote workers seeking comfort during the climbing season. Featuring a king-size bed, personal Wi-Fi, a private kitchen, a bathroom, and an outdoor bath, it blends accommodation with outdoor living inspiration amidst the boulders.

Campsite:
Nestled among boulders and trees, our campsites offer communal amenities like stoves, fridges, a freezer, pots, and pans, along with shared bathroom facilities. The campsite ensures warm showers and shelter from the elements, enhancing the climbing experience.

Caravan (Julies Cottage):
Ideal for traveling climbers, our caravan, Julie's Cottage, includes a private kitchen (outdoor and covered) a double bed, and a sitting area/breakfast nook. Guests only need to bring clothes, towels, and climbing gear. The bathroom facilities are shared

Glampsite:
For camping enthusiasts without the gear, our glamping site provides a canvas tent with a double bed, and a private kitchen with a bar fridge, stove, pots, and cutlery. Just bring clothes, towels, and climbing gear, sharing bathroom facilities with the camp.

Rocklands in Clanwilliam has become a global hub for top-tier rock climbing and bouldering. Nestled in the untamed Cederberg Mountains, it's renowned for over 4,000 routes, drawing climbers worldwide.

The Cederberg has more to offer than climbing. This region is the birthplace of rooibos tea. Enjoy the rich flavours and aromas that have made rooibos a global sensation. Beyond tea, indulge in the exquisite pleasures of some wine, produced by local vineyards within the Cederberg region.

South African hospitality and local cuisine can be enjoyed at several local restaurants within a few kilometres from Rocklands Basecamp. The Cederberg is an integral part of the Fynbos floristic region, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for its rich and diverse flora, boasting a staggering 9000 species of plants.
