The Family Unit comprises a main room with a queen-size bed and a sliding door leading to a second sleeping area with 2 small single beds. There is 1 bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The kitchenette contains a bar fridge, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster.
The Garden Studio comprises 1 bedroom area with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, and an electric frying pan.
In addition, both the studio and family unit contain air-conditioning, a TV with full DStv channels and free Wi-Fi access; a private garden, a seating area on the deck and braai facilities to use. Each unit has an inverter that provides power to the TV and Wi-Fi during power outages (load-shedding).

Calitzdorp is a town in the Little Karoo, situated along the famous Route 62, in the Western Cape. Surrounded by magnificent mountain ranges on three sides, Calitzdorp, known as the “Port Capital" of the world, offers immense natural beauty, historical attractions, and exciting activities that make it well worth a visit.
Calitzdorp is the ideal base from which to explore the Little Karoo Wine Route and offers five wine cellars to visit, namely Boplaas, Die Krans, Calitzdorp Winery, Axe Hill, and Withoek. These wineries produce a variety of red, white, and dessert wines as well as its famous Port wines.
The town of Calitzdorp is steeped in history. Visitors can spend hours exploring the architectural treasures available here. Be sure to stop by Andries Pretorius Street, Church Street, Potgieter Street, Lourens Street, Voortrekker Street, and Queen Street (one of the oldest streets in Calitzdorp ) to view some wonderful old buildings. Also worth a visit is the Dutch Reformed Church which has been declared a national monument, the Calitzdorp Museum, Oude Huis Gallery, St Mark’s Church, and the Gallery Route 62.

Nature and tranquility.
We were all pleasantly surprised on how beautiful the area around Calitzdorp are especially where we stayed at Matjiesvlei Cottages. There are three wine cellars with great restaurants which makes it worth your while to visit.
