Champagne Valley in KwaZulu-Natal's Drakensberg Mountains lies nestled between Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle. Reached via the N3 national road through the towns of Bergville and Winterton, Champagne Valley is a popular family holiday destination for not only foreigners but South Africans alike.
As part of the Mdedelelo Wilderness Area, the Champagne Valley is ideal for hiking and mountain biking, along with excellent rock-climbing opportunities. Monk's Cowl, located between Cathkin Peak and the Drakensberg escarpment, is one of the most difficult climbs in the region, offering beautiful views over the valley.
Champagne Valley is famous for being home to the internationally recognised Drakensberg Boys Choir, whose mountain-top performances have awed all who have heard them perform. The valley is towered over by Champagne Castle, a 3 248m high mountain attached to the main escarpment. At the same time, Giant's Castle, a protected area within the World Heritage Site, provides several rock-climbing routes. The area can also be explored by scenic drives.

My Family and I did not get an opportunity to thank you for an amazing amazing weekend spent at the Beautiful Dragon View Lodge.
It really exceeded our expectations....
The best part of our stay was the warmth and coziness from you, your Husband and the staff. My kids felt safe as they were free to roam and be comfortable.
