Escape for the weekend or longer to our southern Drakensberg village home in Himeville for solitude and relaxation. Or set up base for adventures into Lesotho via Sani Pass; river kayaking on the Umzimkulu; horserides at Khotso Trails; golf at the Country Club or Sani Pass hotel; tennis courts around the corner; hiking or simply walk the village and nearby commonage or picnic at Kenmo Lake.

The home is comfortable and cosy with fireplace lounge, wi-fi & Netflix; enclosed sun-room facing the Berg; fully fitted kitchen with gas hob; 3 well proportioned bedrooms configured in King with full en-suite bathroom/shower; Queen and 2 x singles served by full bathroom/shower. There is a double lock-up garage; auxiliary 4KW solar (battery & panels); stand-bay water supply with pressure pump.

Explore the rose garden or simply read a book on the swing, handcrafted locally from oak wine barrels.

Nearby amenities include:
A convenience shop 100m away; the Himeville Arms hotel, Museum and adjacent Stone House Kitchen Restaurant (‘SHK’) famed for its Oxtail, Lamb Shank, curries and cakes, all within walking distance.

Shopping for all your needs is available in Underberg 5kms away. These include the Superspar; the local butchery; the Underberg Country Club (open to public) offers good Sushi and pub-fare; The Grind Café is renowned for its burgers and Pizza. Other interesting eateries include The Old Duck, The Hatchery and Balim on the Drakensberg Gardens Road.

Himeville is one of the country’s safest rural towns presided over by the 24/7 local Community Watch and the local SAP and served by Underberg EMRS.

We can arrange day trips up Sani Pass; Hero Motorcycle rentals for guided forest rides toward Lotheni. The options are limitless..

Scenery is beautiful. Well worth a visit for anyone looking for peace and quiet. Lots of amazing hikes and outdoor activities. Road up to Sani Pass is not recommended. Only 4x4. Meal at the restaurant was very disappointing. But views from the top worth the effort!
