Koringberg is a small town in the Swartland District of the Western Cape. This rural village is approximately an hour from Cape Town and is accessed mostly via a double-lane highway. Koringberg is one of the lesser-known villages in the Swartland but is starting to find its way onto tourist maps due to tourist attractions such as the Koringberg Mountain Biking Trail and the proximity to Misverstand Dam. The area has become popular with sporting enthusiasts, including cyclists, hikers, and paragliders (due to its proximity to the Winterhoek mountains). Horseback riding and fishing are available nearby. It is also in the heart of the West Coast wine region.
