This hidden treasure is situated only 60 km from East London on the N2 traveling towards Durban. Outspan Farm is situated 3 km along a well maintained gravel road from the Kei Cuttings off the N2.
The lodge is situated in the malaria free Eastern Cape of Southern Africa. The Reserve is privately owned and was established about ten years ago and invites you to share this unexplored paradise with us.
The Reserve is partly mountainous, with gorges, waterfalls and hanging cliffs, offering some of the most spectacular views in Southern Africa. Open plains and bush that vary from pristine to ravine together with impassable wild areas create a haven for all species who live here.
We promise to make your stay in the Eastern Cape a memorable one. Our aim is to make you feel part of our family and share the love that we have for nature with you.
Be our Guest at Outspan Safaris and Lodge where you can relax and feel the heart of Africa in the vibrating rhythm of the Mpotshane Gorge cutting its way through exquisite indigenous fauna and flora. Listen to the call of the Knysna Loerie, do some bird watching, go for a walk, or just relax around the Lodge.
Sip on evening coolers around the fire in the Main Lodge, lounge or on the deck, with a million stars above and listen to the bark of a bush-buck in the thickets across the way or the call of the night jar in the distance. We are excited to share this pristine paradise with you.
The Lodge offers accommodation in the form of 7 en-suite double rooms and one room with 2 single beds. All units have electric lights & South African plug points and the rooms are of a rustic but comfortable nature. The rooms are all equipped with a kettle, coffee, tea and sugar.
The en-suite bathrooms feature a shower (hot and cold water) basin and toilet. All units are overlooking the Mpotshane Valley & Gorge.
The rates include breakfast, however a Dinner Bed and Breakfast option is available

We spent 5 nights at the lodge with great view, bird life, game, good food, clean serviced room and very friendly host. Loads of beautiful beaches around to visit. Thanks Stuart, we really enjoyed our stay!
Very welcoming owner
The place is very good
FANTASTIC!
We had an excellent stay at Outspan which we used for an overnight stop to break up a long drive.
Room was clean, really well presented and the bed very comfortable.
Dining/lounge/bar area is amazing with dinner and breakfast both substantial and delicious.
We did a 2hr game drive in the morning which took us through the beautiful property, down to the Kei river and spotted some game on the way.
Would definitely stay again, and for longer next time!
Good basic accommodation with great views. Excellent food and lovely hospitality. Will go again.
