Nestled just a short distance from the scenic Maitland River mouth and its stunning sand dunes, the charming village of Seaview is located 25 kilometres west of Port Elizabeth. Known for its tranquil atmosphere and natural beauty, Seaview offers breathtaking views of the sea from its tree-lined hills. Despite being only about 30 minutes from the Port Elizabeth airport and city centre, Seaview is a peaceful haven, often referred to as part of the ‘wild side’ due to its untouched sandy beaches and the rhythmic sound of crashing waves.
The village may be small, with a local shopping centre and bottle store, but it’s a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Seaview is perfect for fishing, swimming, and snorkelling, with a quaint tidal pool ideal for young children. It offers a slice of country living, despite its proximity to the city.
The Seaview Game and Lion Park, located nearby, is home to over 40 species of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and monkeys, all roaming freely across the park. It also provides sanctuary to various animals like crocodiles, meerkats, genets, jackals, and caracals, many of which are rehabilitated and released back into the wild when possible. Seaview offers a perfect balance of nature, adventure, and relaxation.
