The comfort cottage has 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms with showers. The kitchen has a 2-plate stove, mini oven, fridge, and microwave. It has an outdoor BBQ, fireplace, living room, and terrace offering outdoor furniture and stunning mountain views.

The classic cottage has 2 bedrooms with a double and a single bed. The bathroom has a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room has a fireplace. The terrace offers outdoor furniture and soothing mountain views.

The family cottage features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spacious main bathroom includes a bathtub, toilet, and basin, while the en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet, and basin. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, and fridge and the living room has a fireplace. The terrace offers outdoor furniture and beautiful mountain views.

Nestled in a secluded 324-hectare valley at the base of Cradock Peak, the highest peak in the Outeniquas, Herold Wines Farm is bordered on three sides by expansive nature reserves. This serene setting is home to wildlife such as baboons, bush pigs, and flocks of fruit-eating birds, while the vineyards coexist harmoniously with hops lands and areas of invasive alien vegetation.

Established in 1999, Herold Wines Farms embodies the rich natural beauty and tranquillity of the Southern Cape. The cool mountain mists of the Southern Cape create conditions reminiscent of Europe’s renowned Pinot Noir region, Burgundy.

The crisp, clean air and pure mountain streams in this vast wilderness area contribute to an environment that is challenging and rewarding. An electric fence keeps the grapes safe most of the time from marauding baboons and innovative zone netting gives protection against fruit-eating birds.

Humour, humanity and long-suffering have gone into this pioneering venture, remote from other wine farming regions, but it has brought rewards, not the least being the wines of consistently fine quality Pinot noir and Sauvignon blanc grown, made, bottled and certified in the Outeniqua Ward, the restoration of exquisite mountain fynbos on more than 120ha of the Outeniquas and the development of personal pride and purpose which will be imprinted for generations.
