The Garden, Orchard and Sunset Huts have en-suite bathrooms (with shower, basin and toilet), tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, ceiling fans, alarm clock/radio's and hair dryers. The larger Orchard Huts are also equipped with air conditioning and dressing room.
The Sunset Huts are ideal for families or couples travelling together as these larger huts have inter-leading doors between rooms with a shared verandah, perfect for watching an Addo sunset.
The malaria-free Addo and Addo Elephant National Park, located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa is the perfect holiday destination and ideal for both adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. Addo lies in the beautiful Sundays River Valley, which stretches from the Indian Ocean to the Zuurberg Mountains. The Sundays River Valley is home to the famous Addo elephants, as well as the famous Addo citrus. The Greater Addo area is world renowned for its citrus fruit production and is South Africa's largest producer of lemons. The area is alive with citrus farms, wonderful Addo roses and an abundance of animal and bird life.
Found deep in the shadow of dense Addo Valley bushveld, the Addo Elephant Park was proclaimed in the 1930's when only 11 elephants remained. Today it is a finely tuned ecosystem which is sanctuary to over 650 elephants, buffalo, black rhino, lion, leopard, hyena, antelope, small carnivores, over 480 bird species as well as the endangered flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The Zuurberg Mountains, falling within the park, are home to interesting fauna and flora including three rare cycad and two yellowwood species.
Plans to extend the current 185 000 ha Addo Elephant National Park into a 400 000 ha "Greater Addo Park" have been completed with the park having more than doubled in size over the past six years. Unique features of the Park include the "Big Seven" (elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion, great white shark and Southern Right whale) in their natural habitat, a 120 000 ha marine reserve with a number of offshore islands as well as five of South Africa's seven biomes (distinct vegetation regions), make Addo one of the most diverse conservation areas in the world. To give you an idea: Per cubic metre, Valley Bushveld is able to support more animals, birds and insects than any other biome on earth.

So many things to do! Visited the Elephant Park and saw hundreds of elephants! The privacy and peacefulness was wonderful. My fisherman husband didn't miss his fishing rod at all! The hot tub was a bit hot with all of us.
The quad biking and river safari.
Addo elephants are an experience not to be missed.
