Welcome to KU DE TA B&B a professional owner-run guest house ideally located in White River in the heart of the South African subtropical Lowveld.
Accommodation is offered in double, twin and family en-suite rooms, each with their own outside entrance. All bedrooms are individually decorated with minimalist, solid, bold, Indonesian Teak furniture to add to the feeling of peace, serenity and tranquility. Some of the rooms have their own private outside courtyards, additional outside showers, and large farm-style verandahs ideally suited to the subtropical Lowveld climate. The beds are made up with pure cotton percale linen and room facilities include a bar fridge, TV, tea and coffee tray, air-conditioner, and free Wi-Fi internet access.
A koi pond meanders all around the guest house, in and out of the courtyards. There is a spacious guest lounge with oversized daybeds ideal for lazy, relaxing afternoons.
We serve a full South African breakfast in the dining room, where all the windows and doors can be stacked away to open the entire space to the front garden. Dinner is available on request, if booked a day in advance, and is served in the dining room. KU DE TA B&B does not have a liquor license, but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks.
The lush subtropical garden with its rolling lawn, majestic royal palms, large dappled shade trees, orchids, epiphytic ferns, colourful shrubs and rare collectors plants is a cool escape.

We’re in the country town of White River, amongst all the splendours of the Lowveld including the Blyde River Canyon, Kruger Park, historical Barberton, Pilgrims Rest, and Crocodile Gorge. It is also convenient for those travelling en-route to Maputo, or one of the many private Game lodges. Interesting craft shopping can be found at Casterbridge, or enjoy dining at Casterbridge and the Bagdad centre at some of the finest restaurants in the Lowveld.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ku De Ta Guest House. Johan Lubbe (our host) really went the extra mile to help make our stay a good one. Our en- suite rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfasts were perfect. everything was provided and we did not at any stage have to ask for anything.The gardens were beautiful - so nice to be surrounded.
What a wonderful experience to stay over in such a beautiful place! It was our visitors' from England last night - and what a memorable one. Hope we get to travel that way again. Johann was brilliant!
First of all, this was the first time in a long while that we managed to get away without our kids or grand children. The venue was fantastic and what a great host Johan was. It is also perfectly situated to explore the Kruger Park and other areas on the Panorama route.

There is a shisanyama along the road . Wow … what a nice place to chill in, the music was good. They braai the meat for the customers.
