The farm offers three self-catering, thatch-roofed cottages, 1 corrugated iron-roofed and 4 quaint prefab cottages, all situated on the banks of the Jan Dissels River with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
It is the ideal place for a family getaway, or a romantic weekend.
Explore the farm roads on foot or mountain bike, fish and swim in the unpolluted river and be awed by the stars in the clear night skies above you.
Make this your base and explore the Cederberg, the coast at Lambert's Bay, Wupperthal, Namaqualand and Clanwilliam from here, or simply relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature around you.
Seven whitewashed cottages set in the tranquil farm landscape offer the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
All are well equipped, have full bathrooms and good quality bed linen and towels are provided. Some have indoor fireplaces and all have outside braai facilities.
Wood is for sale on the farm for your convenience.
The Cederberg Wilderness area comprises approximately 7 100 hectares and lies to the South-east of Clanwilliam. This remote, pristine area with its breathtaking natural beauty which includes a variety of fynbos and dramatic rock formations offers the visitor a unique wilderness experience. Generally, only walking and hiking is permitted in the area. For the less fit visitors there are more accessible places such as Stadsaal Caves with their famous Bushman-Elephant paintings. There is a range of accommodation facilities with a number of recreation options. This area forms part of the Cape Nature Conservation and operates out of Algeria, 30 km from Clanwilliam. The area is know internationally for its walking and hiking trails and is home to a variety of unique plant species such as the Cedar Tree. It is also the only place where leopards are protected.
Property Facilities:The farm Boskloofswemgat is situated in the Boskloof Valley, a magnificent unspoiled area, bordering on the Cederberg Wilderness Area . The Jan Dissels river flows through the valley and the farm was named for a favourite river pool or "swemgat".
The accommodation is set along the river banks and guests can enjoy swimming and fishing in the clear, unpolluted river.
Other activities include mountain biking and hiking, on farm roads or longer hikes - the start of the Krakadouw Trail being near here. You can also do the rewarding hike to "Die Toring", a nearby peak - about 4 hours there and back.
In Spring the valley turns into a spectacle of riotous colour when wild flowers carpet the landscape as far as the eye can see.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! A tranquil, beautiful setting with a lovely stream and rock pool right in front of our chalet. Lovely and private. We would've loved to have stayed for longer and spent more time exploring other hikes etc. nearby.
Lovely setting. The house was perfect, will definitely visit again.
What a gem! Swimming in the fresh mountain water with a natural jacuzzi was a balm for the soul after a very busy year. We'll be back. Gretha was a gracious and organised host.
Great place to relax & get away from the city :)
Amazing surrounds, peaceful, relaxing and smart. Great stay.
Langhuis was ideal for a family of 3. Clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We did not have to bring blankets or towels. Host was friendly and made us feel welcome. The farm is Ideal for mountain biking. . Hiking trails were easy on the legs. Safe location. Our daughter went cycling on her own. The views are spectacular across the area. We enjoyed feeding apples to the two horses but the zebra ate it. :)
The braai facilities are ideal. Someone came to clean the braai area each morning. Delicious jams on sale at reception and a range of dried wors. And the cold river water for those who like to swim in a rock pool.
We will be back for another vacation. The cederberg region has lots to offer and Boskloofswemgat is a great base from which to explore the area. We saw rock art paintings as part of a trail that included 9 San caves.
Clean, comfortable accommodation and facilities. The country setting beside the river is idyllic.
My stay was perfect, it was what I was looking for. Exactly what I needed. A quiet place that provided time to reflect on life.
Lovely spot, so peaceful and pretty - the girls so enjoyed swimming in the river pools and played with others all day there x I love the Cederberg mountains, the surrounding area is beautiful!
