Anchors Rest is a 1.8Km stroll to the village centre, which you can do along the spectacular cliff paths, whilst viewing whales in season. It lies between the historic Old Harbour (in the village) and the New Harbour with restaurants and cocktail bar (within 10 minutes walking distance). Our accommodation was carefully planned to offer guests either the option of Bed and Breakfast or Self-catering or a bit of both! All 4 units are unique so as to meet a wider choice of needs and are designed so as to offer guests maximum privacy.
In Room Facilities:All units have their own private entrance and patio/garden areas and barbecue. A kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, gas hob/induction cookers, toaster, tea and coffee facilities, crockery and cutlery, microwave. Overhead fans, Wi-Fi internet access, Smart TV channels ie Netflix, hairdryers, complimentary toiletries, luxury towels and linen are provided in each unit. Light service for most days.
Area Information:The cliff paths, offering superb whale viewing and wildflowers, are just about on our doorstep. Walk the coastline with spectacular views across Walker Bay. Restaurants, cocktail bar, sea cruises, fishing and scuba diving all from the nearby small but active harbour.
Property Facilities:A swimming pool with luxury sun loungers and shady garden area are available for guests. All units have their own braai (BBQ) and patio area. Secure off-street parking with your own remote gate control.
Attractions:Stroll or drive to the village about1.6 Km and visit the picturesque Old Harbour and museum. Browse through the craft shops and art galleries and stop for refreshments at one of the pavement cafes overlooking the bay. Take a drive to the spectacular beaches including Grotto Beach with Blue Flag status and walk to the lagoon.
Choose one of the graded hiking trails in the Fernkloof Reserve, home to over 1600 plant species or take a leisurely drive through the Hemel en Arde Valley and enjoy a wine tour at one of the estates.
For the more adventurous there are whale and great white shark tours, scuba diving, paragliding and kayaking. Or enjoy a game of golf at one of the two world-class golf courses. Ride a horse along the beach.
Take a day trip to the southernmost point of Africa visiting places of historical interest along the way.

We enjoyed the stay thoroughly!
Very nice and clean!
Perfect location with everything you need:) super well kept and great staff.
It was adequate in a very quiet part of Westcliff Road, it is due an update which the new owners are aware of and will be doing in the near future.
The host was very accomodating and kind and went over and above. We really appreciated the fact that the host went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.
Ideal for people with own transport. Tidy , clean , compact unit with spotless outdoor area. Easy access to cliff path and new harbour. Great shower.
We only managed 1 night at Anchors Rest but everything was very good. Good location, nice light and airy room and Guy was a very helpful gentleman (orginally from UK !). Good to have a private garden and pool to chill out in for a while.
Want a clean place to live and stay with in your budget, well this is the place. Near to all the facilities and wonderfully clean.
