Your hosts, Pete and Megan, would like you to feel that this is a relaxing home away from home. Share our passion for the Karoo and our property! Feel free to wander through our huge fruit and veggie garden and olive orchards (and pick from it for your dinner!). The kids will love to visit our animals in their free range home and are welcome to help at feeding time. There are no streetlights or town noises to spoil that special Karoo tranquility…
There are 4 spacious cottages set in a peaceful garden. Each are decorated with a touch of the old Karoo with attention to detail and interesting rustic little touches.
Special care has been taken to give you home away from home comforts – quality linen, comfy beds, extra blankets, hot water bottles and heaters for those chilly winter nights and fans for the Karoo summer.

Reviews
It is a charming, rustic stay with charming hosts. The decor is beautiful and utterly creative, and obviously a great deal of effort has gone into developing and maintaining the garden areas. Definitely a place to make you feel that you have really had a rest!
The accommodation at Karoo Khaya is good value for money. We had a spacious well-equipped 2 bedroom self catering cottage. Megan is an excellent host and she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed the farm style atmosphere.
Great stay! perfectly appointed house with a little sustainable garden around the back. Easy check in, good communication, clean and comfortable with lovely touches. Dog friendly.
Fantastic stop and stay, very easy to find and get to after a long drive. Clean, comfortable and pretty accommodation, great WiFi and lovely garden with very welcome plunge pool.
Very friendly and amenable host, offered good directions, guidance and extra torches for load shedding.
Prince Albert is a jewel, will definitely be back to use Karoo Khaya as a base for future visits. We just spent one night but a couple in the next cottage we’re staying a week... we were jealous.
We had a lovely stay at our cottage. Megan and Sam could not have been more hospitable, and the grounds were beautiful. Would love to stay longer next time!
It was everything we wanted. Stunning decor. Amazing hosts. We absolutely loved it and would be back in a heartbeat.
We were travelling with our 2 Miniature Schnauzers. Megan closed a gate or 3 and suddenly our dogs had the whole yard to themselves! The facilities were clean and neat, and something we'd love to make use of again!
Wonderful ambiance at a well run establishment where we spent two delightful evenings. Thanks to hosts Pete and Megan for making it an unforgettable experience.

Nice atmosphere and excellent hospitality. We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Pete and Megan for a magical stay at your guest house. It is a bit like stepping back into history with its olde world charm. Your home made apricot jam is beyond delicious and all the veggies bought at the market were wonderful, a whole new cooking experience for me. The Karoo Kombuis also served us the most incredible dinner in the most beautiful old fashioned little restaurant. These 2 establishments are sooo worth visiting again. Many thanks for your hospitality. Fred +Bev

Beautiful small town situated in the Karoo. Very friendly and accomadating people.
Swartberg Pass access.
Galleries and restaurants.
Like visiting the past.
'n Absolute moet besoek juweel in die Karoo.
Great food, shops and Swartberg pass is a must-do.
Everything!
It is a beautiful little town with good coffee, G & T's ( best ever at the local hotel) and friendly people.
The main road setting, restuarants, fleemarket, musuem. Cleanliness, Friendly People.
Lovely little gem of a town. Lots of things to do, eateries and little shops and galleries to visit. At the base of the most spectacular mountain pass in all Africa.
The charm and character of this town impressed me. The Karoo gardens are beautiful and there are interesting local products for sale. I recommend the book shop in Marlene's home.
Peace and quiet; feeling of safety; good clean air. We attended a wonderful photographic course with Louis Botha.
