The lodge is located in de Kelders - a small village at the Atlantic Ocean between Stanford and Gansbaai. Whether you are looking for adrenalin and decide to go on a shark cage diving trip to discover the Great White Sharks as close as possible or if you decide to savour the local wines at the estates in the nearby Stanford Valley - our friendly staff would be glad to assist you with information and make your stay an unforgettable and enjoyable experience.

We welcome you to enjoy the hiking trails along the coastline. If you feel like jogging a map with different length jogging trails will be provided. There is also a Vibro Plate available for exercise.
Activities
Beside the hiking trails along the coast or in the nearby Walker Bay Nature Reserve. If you are interested in guided activities there are a couple of possibilities to book from several organisations like:
- horse back riding along the beaches
- whale and seal colony cruises
- sunset cruises
- panoramic flights
- 4x4 fynbos tours and kajaking tours
- Fat bike ride on the Sand Dunes/ Walker bay nature reserve

This highly a recommended experience and starts close to Sea Star Lodge.

Another exceptional experience is a flight safari with African Wings, where you can watch whales and Great White Sharks from the plane and enjoy a beautiful view at the scenic coastline of the Overberg area.
If you prefer horse riding on the beach or in the beautiful Fynbos vegetation we recommend and can book with a reliable supplier in the nearby Stanford area.

The views are just a true beauty of Nature. Walking trails, whales season. comes with the best accommodation in the area and restaurants too.
What a spectacular find, stunning view! A family birthday weekend blessed with good weather and whales to entertain us. De Kelders is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The views are simply magnificent. Long stretches of quiet beaches. Whale season is incredible, in 2018 we had more than a 1000 whales in the bay.
However, De Kelders is loved and cherished by well seasoned travelers who return year upon year.
